Their story
An unconventional way of meeting through Friendster and cupids strike with Rupal and Jay. A few chat, friendly phone conversations later and dates, they lead to a wedding made in heaven.
The wedding
“One of the great things about Indian weddings is the multiple events that are celebrated over multiple days. We had different styles for each event. Our Sangeet was all aboutn beautiful bold colors, the ceremony was traditional with a gold mandap and burgundy, and our reception was contemporary with aqua, white, and silver colours. Jay and I truly had our dream fairly-tale wedding."
Their culture
“To help incorporate both Gujarati and Punjabi traditions we decided to have a mehndi and sangeet combined instead of a traditional garba. We had bright colours designed on ‘food carts’ with chefs that you may see along the streets of India, serving food from all over the world including Middle Eastern, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, and Italian. There were mehndi artists for our women guests as well as singing and dancing throughout the night. The wedding was a traditional Hindu wedding with very classic gold, ivory, and red colours. Jay entered with his bharat on a white horse, while Rupal’s bridal party welcomed the groom’s party with a little twist-with their own dhol player and dancing at the entrance. Their reception was a contemporary twist with ‘Miami style’ with white vinyl dance floor with a custom monogram, light up bars with monograms, draping, and white couches through the ballroom. Ragini decorated the main table for family with mix centerpieces, candles and flowers, an aqua and silver backdrop and a light-up cake table, all which matched Rupal’s dress.”
